Volbeat is a four-piece Danish heavy metal band from Copenhagen. The band was founded by the former Dominus vocalist and guitarist Michael Poulsen.[1] The first line up was completed by guitarist Teddy Vang, bassist Anders Kjølholm and drummer Jon Larsen.[2] Volbeat recorded a self-titled demo. Guitarist Teddy Vang was replaced by Franz Gottschalk, with whom the band recorded their second demo Beat the Meat and their first two albums The Strength/The Sound/The Songs and Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil. When the recordings for the second album were completed, Gottschalk was forced to leave the band. He was replaced by Thomas Bredahl who made his debut on the band's third album Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood.[2] Bredahl departed the band in 2011.
